This Mid-Priced Compilation was first released in 1994 and represents another good value-for-money offering.  The CD concentrates heavily on 60's releases when Northern Soul lovers went for a much faster tempo than they do today.  Amongst these frenzied tracks however there is some contrast on offer from Jackie Wilson with his classic "I Get the Sweetest Feeling" and from Barbara Acklin with "Love Makes A Woman".  Inevitably on a CD of this type at least one piece of  Pop Pseudo Soul finds its way onto the listing, in this case its "Goodbye Nothin' to Say"  by Nosmo King and the Javells.  Forgiving Deep Beats this aberration however this is quite a tidy package and its nice to see them include some of the Trammps tracks which despite being bona fida Soul found some commercial success in the Pop world.   All too often in the search for exclusivity anything which found recognition outside Soul Circles tends to get dropped.

Personal Favourites of mine are 'Baby Boy' by Fred Hughes, 'There was a Time' by Gene Chandler and the 'Who-Who Song' by Jackie Wilson.
