This second compilation from Deepbeats is very much in the same vein as the first and just like its predecessor it also concentrates on sixties releases. Just as on volume 1 it adheres to the principle of including tracks which are not just elitist, but which also achieved some success in the pop world. In this case the shining example is 'This is the House Where Love Died' by First Choice. Unfortunately it also does the reverse and includes Pop records which made some impact in the Soul world. This time the aberration in question is Wayne Gibson's 'Under My Thumb'. The sleeve notes were disappointing, but none the less it is a nice package with some quality sounds. My personal favourites are 'Turning my Heartbeat Up' by the MVP's, 'One in a Million' by Maxine Brown and 'Livin' the Nightlife' by The Charts. The Adam's Apples track 'Don't Take It Out Of This world ' is also quickly growing on me. Forgiving it its deficiencies this offering represents good value for money.
